Overall I have a renewed excitement to be back in Haifa. Being in Jerusalem for a day gave me a different perspective that I was looking for, and now I am ready to continue working the city in love and prayer. :)
I have been reading my books I checked out from the library yesterday and today. Frustrated at first by not being able to find the history section, I settled on some books about language and culture and a teach-yourself spoken arabic book. I went back today to read and use the computer and realized all the history/anthropology (i.e. interesting) books were on the 2nd floor. I was happily engulfed in study for about two hours and I barely moved from one shelf.
I am reading now a book of letters from a woman living in Jerusalem during the British mandate in the 1920s. It is extremely interesting and I have only pulled myself away now to write this entry.
Coming up is Rosh HaShana--the Jewish New Year... The year will be 5770, a whole new decade. Simon sent me some interesting articles about the holiday, because I really don't know much at all when it comes down to it. Here's a link explaining what it's about. Really beautiful, I say. Hopefully it works for you all.
